WINTER CLASSIC

Thanks to everyone who participated! A little rain didn't get in the way of a memorable event. Hope everyone had fun and we can make this an annual tradition.

DETAILS FOR TOMORROW'S "WINTER CLASSIC" OUTDOOR GAME

*IF YOU HAVE NOT RSVP'ED YET PLEASE DO SO ASAP*

*We have the ice reserved from 10:30am-11:30am at the Jack Kirrane Rink, 25 Newton St., Brookline. The rink is located in Larz Anderson Park.

*The locker rooms are NOT open at this time. There are plenty of benches and floor mats available next to the rink entrance. That said you may want to come with your "bottom" gear on and then get your skates and the rest of your equipment on at the rink. Also I would recommend bringing a towel to sit on when getting your skates off//on as the benches may be a bit wet.

*The weather looks good for outdoor skating tomorrow morning - mid to upper 30s and overcast, with showers holding off until later in the day. I would recommend wearing a wicking base layer under your gear. The sun peaked out during the bantam game yesterday and there actually was a bit of glare, so any softball players out there may want to bring the eye black just in case.

*Masks are required at the rink.

*Please bring a white and dark jersey. We will split up and play a scrimmage.

*Cost is $400 for the hour; I will settle up with everyone tomorrow based on the total number of skaters.

AHA Girls U10 - Winter Classic Outdoor Game

Just a reminder that our outdoor "winter classic" event will be next Thursday (12/30) at 10:30a @ the Kirrane Rink in Brookline.

So far I have heard back from most of the team, but there are still a few who have not yet RSVP'ed. Can you please let me know by the end of the weekend? There are a few players coming who would also like to invite siblings/friends if space permits.

I'll follow up on logistics for those participating next week.

AHA Girls U-10 Tournament this Weekend!

Good morning,

Coach Pete asked me to send a quick note regarding this weekend's tournament. As a reminder here is the schedule:

Saturday 7:00AM v. Arlington U-10

Saturday 11:40AM v. Winchester

Sunday 8:20AM v. Arlington Squirt A

Sunday 6:30PM - Squirt A Championship Game

All games are at Ed Burns Arena, 422 Summer St., Arlington. Please note that masks are required to be worn in the arena.

Pete and I talked about trying to organize a team breakfast in between games tomorrow but logistically that was challenging to pull off given that everyone is running around to multiple commitments this time of year. Therefore as a native Spy Ponder I am passing on a few places worth checking out if you want to kill a few hours between games:

Quebrada Bakery, 208 Mass Ave.

If you need skate sharpening, equipment or hockey related stocking stuffers, go to Sports Etc. (1303 Mass Ave.).

Finally, for holiday gifts for that special 10 year old daughter in your life, Elizabeth recommends Maxima (212 Mass Ave).

AHA Girls U-10 & Friends "Winter Classic" Outdoor Game

Team - I am pleased to let you know I was able to reserve a sheet of ice over the Christmas break at the Jack Kirrane outdoor ice rink at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline for our girls to hold their very own "Winter Classic" outdoor game.

The ice is reserved on the Thursday of Christmas break (12/30) from 10:30am -11:30am.

I will cap this game at 20 skaters and 2 goalies and plan to open this up to some "friends and family" so please RSVP and let me know whether your daughter would like to play as soon as practicable.

The cost of the sheet is $400 which we will split amongst all skaters (goalies free!) once we get a final count.

We held a similar game for Elizabeth's brothers' Bantam 1 team last year and had a great time (photo attached).

Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can have a memorable day outdoors on the ice! Any questions please let me know.
