Practice, Evaluations, Playoff Games...

What a terrific State Tournament. Although the sting from the loss to Hingham is real, you'll be glad to know Hingham went on to win the u10 States with a wild 8 round shootout win vs Waltham. The level of play for the tier 3 States is impressive and our girls have every reason to be proud of their efforts in making it to Sunday. Also congrats to u10 Gold for winning the tier 4 States.

We have a practice scheduled for Wednesday at 6pm on Harrison. Our first round playoff is against Waltham at 9:50am in Stoneham. Please let me know if you are able to play. This will be a barn burner of a game. This is a win and move on format and all potential future games for the Middlesex title are on your schedules.

If you plan on skating with AHA in any capacity next season, evaluations are Thursday evening. Age groupings are based on which group your daughter will play next season. Here is the schedule:

7:20 Practice tonight!

Somehow practice was bumped to 7:20pm tonight. No worries if you can't make it work. We also had a Middlesex League playoff game scheduled for Sunday, March 24th 9:50am against the chippy Waltham team. Game is in Stoneham.

If possible, please have your girls at the rink tomorrow for 3:30. Thank you.

State Tournament is here!!!

Well we've made it to the end of the hockey season. We have a full sheet practice to ourselves on Thursday 6:10 on Gurry. U10 Gold has game one of their tournament Thursday in Waltham so the ice is ours. Please make an effort to get there.

Our first game is 4pm on Friday against Reading. Not convenient so early dismissal is likely your best option. Saturday we have an 8am vs Allston/Brighton and then a 3pm vs Hyde Park. Hopefully we'll be playing Sunday at either 8:20am or 9:30am. Finals are Sunday at 3:20.

All we have left is States and Middlesex League playoffs. Get your kids psyched up as every game counts. Let's go!!!

Saturday game now 3:10 on Harrison!

We had to move our game start Saturday from 2:20 to 3:10, hopefully that works for all. We're still at Phillips but now on the Harrison sheet. Late 7:20 practice tonight, yuck. A handful of people will be attending the Brooks game on Wednesday so we are going to pass on Elev802. Practice Thursday at 6:30. Any questions, let me know. Thank you.

Wednesday Possible Schedule Change...

Hey everyone,

Turns out Wednesday is "National Girls & Women Sport Day" and we have the chance to attend a Brooks School girls hockey game and skate with the players after the game followed by a pizza party. Thanks to Willie Waters for the invite.

If there is enough interest, we can cancel our Elev802 ice time and attend the Brooks game. Let me know if this works for you.

Also, we have games scheduled on both weekends of February vacation. Please let me know if you are able to play in any of the scheduled games, barn burners against Waltham, Jr Crusaders and Westwood. Thanks.

Huge Win today!!

U10 Blue is trending in the right direction. Girls played great today.

Just a heads up, our practice Tuesday has been cancelled in lieu of attending the AHS girls high school game at 7pm at Breakaway. This is the Sarah Duval memorial game. If you're daughter would like to be on ice for the pregame ceremony, please let me know soon as we have a limit on the number of kids. Hope to see you there and wear your orange.

Sarah Duval Memorial Game

Good Morning,

Andover high school girls hockey team is hosting the Sarah Duval Memorial Game on Tuesday, January 30th at 7:10pm at Breakaway. You may be familiar with "Sarah Strong" as Sarah was a hockey playing Andover resident who passed away from leukemia in 2021. https://www.sarahduval.org/

Our u10 Blue and Gold teams are invited to hop on the ice for the pregame ceremonies and the AHA membership is invited to attend the game and celebrate Sarah. Ideally, it would be great to have say 15 kids on the ice in skates, AHA jerseys, helmets, sticks and gloves. AHS players will be wearing orange laces and ribbons so dig out your orange in support of Sarah.

Please let me know if this is an option for your daughter and family. If interest is solid, we will cancel our 7:20, yikes, practice on Tuesday in favor of attending the high school game.

February games...

Hey Folks,

Just a heads up, we have games scheduled in February that aren't yet uploaded on our Crossbar website / calendar. The Middlesex League had to move their website to Sports Engine, which is horrible, and games are scheduled for February. PWHL Boston players are coming to Andover!!

Save the Dates!! AHA has the good fortune of hosting 3 PWHL Boston players at a practice on Friday January 19th from 6:10pm-8:20pm for a fun skate, autographs, and meet and greet.

We also will be hosting an "Andover Hockey Night" at the PWHL Boston game vs Minnesota on Saturday January 27th at 4pm at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. Discounted tickets can be purchased using the following link https://fevo-enterprise.com/event/Andove...

Being the largest town hockey program north of Boston, we are lucky to be engaged with the PWHL Boston franchise and their community outreach program. The League has put forth a real commitment to grow girls hockey at the grassroots level. In addition to the players coming to Phillips and hosting an Andover Hockey Night at one of their games, we will also have a few other opportunities to be involved with their team as the season marches on.

Specific details will follow about which ages will be on the ice with the players and what times prior to the January 19th skate. Let's show them our support and get as many Andover families to the game on January 27th. The ticket link is active so don't wait to get seats if it's a sellout.

u10 Blue!!

Have a game! Great win against Canton. Thanks to all for making the trip. If you haven't noticed, our practice schedule is set through the end of the season. Phillips will be back on the ice soon so the schedule may vary week to week.

This week we have a 6:30 practice on Tuesday, Elev802 on ice Wednesday at 6pm, and 6:10 on Thursday. Home game Saturday at 2:20. We are going to try and have a team gathering after our game Saturday, deets to follow.

No games nor practices scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. Keep an eye on the Middlesex schedule as our December and January games will be posted soon. Thanks.

U10 Blue!

Girls played great against Reading, what a win. Our kids have made a big leap in playing as a team and passing the puck while playing positional hockey. Love it.

Easy week with practice tonight at 5pm and again Thursday at 6:10pm. Home game Saturday against dreaded Billerica/Chelmsford 1:10pm at Phillips. Please let us know if you are unable to make it.

We're going to look into potentially getting together as a group after Saturday's game. If anyone has any good ideas about location, let's hear about it.

Lastly, we may have the option to play in the Laker's Tournament the first weekend in March in Worcester. It's a tier 2 tournament, hosted by the Jr Crusaders. If we enter, we'd be playing club teams. This would be a terrific warmup prior to hosting the State Tournament on St Patrick's Day weekend at Phillips. Please let me know if this is something you'd be interested in participating in. The cost would be approx $125 per player and no is OK too. Thanks.

U10 Blue!!

Great win for the girls on Saturday. These girls have made enormous progress playing as a team vs chasing the puck. They have another good test as we have our first home game at Phillips Saturday at 1:10 vs Reading. It will be a good matchup.

Busy week as we have practice tonight at 5pm on the Harrison sheet. Elev802 on ice Wednesday at 6pm, an earlier than usual Thursday 5:20pm practice on Harrison, and the optional open skate Friday night at 6:30. Please update your availability.

Last Friday, 20 girls ranging from u10 - u14 showed up and played a game of pick up hockey. It was cool to watch. This is optional but all our girls are invited. Thanks.

U10 Blue!!

Terrific game from our girls last night against Westwood. The girls played great with a solid effort and good pace. The Kelleher girl on Westwood is one of the better 10U players in Massachusetts, true story. She scored 5 of their 7 goals. For the record, I've never seen a penalty shot at this age level, especially with one minute left in a 1 goal game, bananas.

Easy week for us as we have a Wednesday XP session at 6pm, practice Thursday at 6:10 on the Gurry sheet, and another 7am game Saturday in Stoneham. Please update availability let us know if you can't make the game.

Also, please notice on your calendar, AHA has set aside 6:30pm on Friday nights until Thanksgiving, an open ice session for all AHA girls. We are trying to give our girls ice to work on their skills and spend time with as many fellow AHA girls as possible. This is intended to be a fun time for our girls and build some camaraderie for all ages. Make it if you can.

Terrific win for the girls on Saturday vs Waltham. We have on ice skills at Elev802 Wednesday at 6, practice on the Gurry sheet Thursday at 6:10, and a the pick of the week hockey game 7am Saturday in Stoneham against Melrose, yikes!!

Please let me know if you will be playing Saturday as I'm betting we'll need a few call ups from the Gold squad to make this work.

Hi Parents,

Hope everyone is in good shape from Friday's crazy storm. For those that can make it, workout at XP Wednesday at 6pm, practice on the Gurry sheet Thursday at 6:10, and our first game of the season is Saturday at 8:10am in Stoneham against Waltham. Let the season begin!!

We plan on handing out uniforms after Thursday's practice so please let me know if you'll be able to attend. This season's jerseys are sassy.

The u10 Blue squad will be rotating in alternates and players from the u10 Gold team throughout the season . If you are unable to make a scheduled game, please give us a heads up as we want to make sure we balance having too few or too many players. Thank you.
