Dryland Training at XP!

AHA supports USA Hockey's recommendation to encourage fun, age-appropriate "dryland" (off-ice) exercises that help deliver the agility, balance, coordination, strength and skill training that young players need to complement their on-ice play.

Beginning next week, AHA is pleased to resume dryland training sessions for Mite travel through Bantam/U-14 players at no extra cost. Training sessions will now be held at the new Xcelerated Performance ("XP") training center in Dundee Park in downtown Andover (same entrance as ELEV802 Boston).

Xcelerated Performance is led by Pat Gigante, who has over 15 years of experience preparing athletes for elite competition in all sports at the collegiate and youth levels. Pat spent many years as the Strength & Conditioning Coach at Tufts University. With experience working with multiple professional athletes and top collegiate lacrosse, hockey, football, soccer, and baseball players, Pat has honed his ability to develop the entire athlete.

AHA will hold team specific sessions at XP (approximately 2x per month per team) as well as free extra "open sessions" per age levels. Players can register for "open" sessions on a first come, first served, basis using the attached Sign-Up Genius.

XP team sessions will show up on your calendar as "Dundee Park XP". Please check your schedule carefully to make sure your players are at the right session and the right location.

Players should wear appropriate workout attire for XP training sessions and bring a labeled water bottle. In addition we would encourage wearing a mask when inside the facility.

If you have any questions, please contact your head coach or webmaster@andoverhockey.org. For more information about XP please feel free to contact Pat at pat@xpathleticperformance.com.
