Heseltine 2025 - Wrap-up and Thank You

This past weekend, AHA hosted the 42nd Annual Heseltine Memorial Mite Tournament.

What started as a small tournament in 1981 with just a few teams, has transformed over the years to a massive undertaking featuring over 30 travel teams and house league teams that leads to a weekend full of fun, team building and exciting hockey.

This tournament was the result of our hardworking and dedicated Tournament Committee, led by Brian Boylan who put countless hours into executing an incredibly well-run tournament. With Brian were countless volunteers reffing games, checking teams and players in, working the auction station, putting up and taking down boards and staffing our snack bar.

A special thanks to Michaela and Alex Balford, Meg Annino, Jacqui Ambrose, Lauren Davis, Kate and Anthony Villa, and Dan and Steve Zuccaro. Another big thank you to all of our Mite coaches and MHL coaches for the hours put in with logistics as well as coaching.

As a 100% volunteer run, community-based non-profit, we are always in need of more dedicated volunteers. Opportunities such as helping out with the Heseltine Tournament are great opportunities to give back, and best of all you don’t need to know how to skate, take a one-timer or stickhandle to help make a memorable event for AHA’s kids. Additionally, if you were one of the countless volunteers who enjoyed being a part of Heseltine and would like to do more, we are always looking for dedicated parents to help with other activities or join our Board of Directors. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to discuss.

Finally, congratulations to this year's tournament champions:

AAA – Reading

AA – North Andover

A – Winchester
