Registrations Open for 2021-22 Season!

What Programs Are Open Now?

Registration is open now through Friday, February 26th for the following 2021-22 Coed and Girls Travel Programs:

• Mite Travel (Birth Years 2013-2015)

• Squirts/U-10 (2011-2012)

• Pee Wees/U12 (2009-2010)

• Bantams/U-14 (2007-2008)

Registration for 2021-22 Learn to Skate (LTS), Learn to Play (LTP), Mite House League (MHL) and High School Half Season (HSHS) programs will open at a later date.

What Payments Are Due Now?

There is a $200 non-refundable registration fee payable upon registration for all Youth Travel Program skaters. The $200 fee will be applied in full to tuition for all players who participate with AHA for the season. Goalies pay a reduced fee. No payments are due at this time for LTS/LTP, MHL or HSHS.

Please review AHA’s refund and installment payment plan policies and contact treasurer@andoverhockey.org should you have any questions.

For Youth Travel Program families who utilize the installment payment plan, an initial tuition payment will be charged once the teams are announced in April. The balance of the tuition will then be charged in three equal installments on July 1, August 1, and September 1.

Will There Be Tryouts? Opportunities To Skate This Spring?

Due to COVID restrictions and protocols, we anticipate that unfortunately we will be unable to hold our traditional on-ice evaluations this spring. Instead, our placements committee will use a hybrid approach for player evaluation and team formation, focusing heavily on compiled coaches’ rankings from the current season. We also intend for age level evaluators to observe games (in person or via LiveBarn) and practices when safely possible. For players who are new to AHA, we will work with you to place your player appropriately by giving your player the opportunity to skate at a practice session with players who are the same birth year and skill level and viewing games via LiveBarn.

One exciting development - we have additional ice time at Phillips Academy Ice Rinks this spring which will be used for 2021-22 teams to skate together. More details to follow!

We Want To Participate In The MHL. Should We Sign Up Now?

Mites (birth years 2013 through 2015) need only to register now if they would like to be considered for placement in the Mite Travel program. If you intend for your player participate in the Mite House League there is no need to register at this time; MHL registration will open over the summer and payments will be due in the fall. If you are uncertain whether your player would be ready for Mite Travel please contact your current coach or mitedirector@andoverhockey.org.

My Son/Daughter is a 2007 Birth Year But Will Be a High School Freshman. For What Programs Can They Register?

Birth Year 2007 Players (2nd year Bantams/U-14 players) who will be entering their freshman year in high school must register as full-time Bantam/U-14 players and will be able to participate in the HSHS program at no additional cost! These players cannot register for HSHS unless they are registered as a full-time AHA Bantam/U-14 player. Please see AHA’s policies with respect to high school freshmen with Bantam / U-14 eligibility remaining for further information. Those players will be placed on the appropriate HSHS team once HSHS registration is opened and will be able to participate in the HSHS program in the fall with no additional tuition due.

We recognize that the current season has been challenging for hockey players everywhere but are so proud of the way AHA’s players, coaches, and families have persevered, participated in a safe manner and had lots of fun notwithstanding. We look forward to hopefully resuming a more “normal” experience on and off the ice next season.

Sincerely,

AHA Board of Directors
